Chapter Eighteen

Trick

“Christ.” Trick cursed as he stepped into the bathroom that was just down from Nav’s bedroom. He should have been more prepared. He was always prepared, until Nav had swept the world right from under his feet. He usually didn’t scene with an ounce of alcohol in his blood either, but although he’d sobered, Nav had thrown that off the rails, too.

He’d waited until Nav had fallen fast asleep before he’d used his shirt to wipe them down. Dreading the moment when he would have to pull away and get them a cloth and water, Trick had waited as long as he could.

Nav had fallen so hard into the state that most subs only dreamed about, and Trick had been riding the same waves, almost out of his mind as Nav took each thrust. It had been like no scene he had ever experienced, and he hadn’t even lifted a flogger.

Trick had hoped to give Nav exactly what he needed after whatever had happened to him at the club, and he had responded like a dream as Trick removed every trace of Derreck from his body. The bruises had been stripped away, Nav’s fleshy canvas stained only with Trick’s marks by the time he’d finished.

Leaning against the cool glass of the mirror, he took a deep breath, letting it fog over the glass as he exhaled. His skin was still buzzing, his body itching as adrenaline and serotonin rushed through his veins. The mere thought of curling around Nav again pushed him even higher.

Theo had been so right. What they’d had together had been safe and sexy—two beautiful and like-minded people putting on a show for themselves and others. But that was as far as it had gone.

Every scene with Theo had been a carefully guided dance—one that Trick had gotten so good at that he hadn’t been able to see the falsity of it anymore.

If I push Theo’s face into the bed, he’ll arch his back and wiggle his hips with a teasing smile on his face…

If I slap his ass, he’ll wince, the word ‘gentle’ hidden just behind his teeth…

If I prep him too quickly so I leave him tight enough to split open, he’ll beg for me to go slower…

None of that described Nav. Nav was a surprise, wrapped in mystery paper and delivered by a masked man. Trick never knew what he was going to find or how Nav was going to react. Nav’s pain tolerance had probably been as low as Theo’s until Trick had managed to flip that switch that turned Nav into a god of submission.

Grabbing a cloth, he blinked in the dim light, feeling along the sink and running the water until it warmed. He crept back to the bed, staring at Nav, who was still in the same position as he’d been in when he’d left.

The single window in the room allowed the moonlight to filter in, casting an eerie glow over Nav’s sleeping form. He’d clutched his soft hands to his chest in his sleep, his pale legs exposed to the moonlight.
